As someone who has listened to your past 3 newsletters I love your random rambles there also is fun to listen to and I love hearing your thought process as you edit the newsletter and I’m genuinely so excited to go to your event at the sunny coast on the 12th

I absolutely love knowing what tropes are in books, which is a reason why I read a lot of fanfiction (they come with tags, those ones). I agree that enemies to lovers is more like “vaguely disliking each other because of something stupid” to lovers at the moment so I love a proper version.

Also! I despise the same tropes you’ve mentioned you dislike. Love triangles annoy me, misscommunication and cheating are both horrible. I’ll also say that there are very few chosen one books that I enjoy (I think Percy Jackson, Medoran Chronicles, and Harry Potter are the only ones I can stand. I love the way Alex is written especially with a very genuine reason WHY she is the one who needs to defeat Aven.)

Anyway yeah I just wanted to share my opinion on this. <3

Thank you for taking the time to write another hilarious and enjoyable to read newsletter. Love how you included your opinions and tropes as well as you familiarity with readers and how open you are. The medoran chronicles will always be one of my most favourite series! Thank you for being such an inspiration both as an author and just as a person by reminding everyone that everyone has ups and down! I can’t wait to read you next newsletter! 😊

I absolutely LOVE your books... and the newsletters of course!!! Just listening to the newsletter is one thing.... but listening to what your thinking as you read it is so funny. I honestly wish I could go back in time to read the prison healer series, whisper and weapon for the fist time! Your amazing!!!

Loved your newsletter as always. You have so much personality when you write in your books but also in your newsletters and social media posts and I love that about you. My best friend and I are going to your event on the 12th of October and we are SO EXCITED AND IMPATIENT. Your newsletters and your work have also encouraged me in my writing journey.

Yay, another newsletter! I love reading these :D

As always I am so excited for your nexts books and I look forward to seeing the cover art. (I once contemplated becoming a graphic designer and doing book covers but alas I went into architecture - rip my social life)

It also never ceases to amazing me the art of the maps in your books (I would absolutely love a print of them up on my walls) Francesca Baerald is so talented!! Will there be a map for your next books too and will Francesca be the one doing them? (Also your dogs are very cute <3)

As for the trope topic, I love tropes and it helps with finding books (or fanfics) to read, and I love finding new ones like sharing the only bed (my heart nearly exploded at the cuddling and fluff when I first discovered it ahhh <33333) but yeah it sucks getting disappointed when they don’t turn out how you wanted it to go, it’s like false advertising or being sold a knockoff item.

Ummm what else was I gonna say… Oh yeah, I don’t know if you take book recommendations but I think I found a book you might like? I remember you went to see the Beauty and the Beast musical so I’m not sure if you’re a Beauty and the Beast fan buuuuut I found this Beauty and the Beast inspired book and it is SO GOOD, like I literally read the first book in one whole day and had to buy the second straight away (I haven’t read a whole book in a single sitting in years) It’s called ‘A Curse so Dark and Lonely’ by Brigid Kemmerer if you’re interested!

Lastly glad to find another Lindsey Stirling fan, and I agree with the movie recommendations, Union was alright to watch once. I want to watch Twister (the trailer looked so cool) so I’m glad it’s good, and I want to see IF because who doesn’t like Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski.

Looking forward to the next newsletter!!

While I was binge reading The Blood Traitor today (because who could put THAT book down), my dad actually had Ludovico Einaudi playing for almost the whole day…no wonder it fit so well with the book…

omg while i wait for the next books to come out (yes im already doing a reread) i need these long newletters to survive!!!!! also question....could any of the book covers be turned into posters and sold? i love them all but screenshots do not look good lol

Expand full comment
Lynette Noni's avatar

Aww, thank you! And I'm guessing there would be licensing problems with the cover artwork, so I doubt they'd ever be for sale as posters -- but this is a question you'd be better off asking my publishers directly, since only they would know the answer!
